Zak Ātea Komene (Te Ati Awa, Taranaki), is a published Illustrator and Visual Artist based in Sydney Australia, originally from Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Her work includes editorial illustration, children’s book illustration, artist book design and fine art practises created through digital and traditional painting and drawing mediums. Through her work she explores the intangibles of our natural world, and the complexities of joy and self as we navigate it. Applying both a wordly and Te Ao Māori lens, she utilises colour, texture and a mixed media approach to bring her visions to life.
